The Diamond Jubilee of Saint Anthony’s Parish, is a wonderful opportunity for us to give thanks to God for the 60 years of our Parish community. It is an opportunity to honour our past, embrace our present and look forward to the future with hope and enthusiasm.
The humble beginning of Saint Anthony’s Parish goes back to the year 1961 when the new Parish community was established and the first Parish Priest, Father Paul Keyte SDS was appointed.Father Paul belonged to the Society of the Divine Saviour, known also as Salvatorians which had been established by Father Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan on the 8th December 1881 in Rome.
The first Church and the School of Saint Anthony’s was located in Bellevue and then, in 1983 relocated to the present site by the Parish Priest of that time, Fr Laurence Murphy SDS.
There were a number of Salvatorian Priests serving the Parish community of Saint Anthony’s.Early in the piece the Salvatorian Priests were from the British Province and from the late 1980’s until present time, the Parish community of Saint Anthony’s has been entrusted to the Pastoral care of Salvatorian Priest from the Polish Province.
